Inventory/Checkout Clerk

A Property Inventory Clerk is responsible for conducting detailed inspections of residential properties and producing accurate inventory reports that document the condition and contents of properties at key stages of tenancy. This includes check-ins, check-outs, mid-term inspections, and property condition reports. The role requires strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining professional communication with landlords, tenants, and property managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct property inspections including:
    • Check-in inventories
    • Check-out reports
    • Mid-term inspections
    • Schedule of condition reports
  • Record accurate descriptions of property condition, fixtures, fittings, and furnishings.
  • Take clear, high-quality photographic evidence to support written reports.
  • Identify maintenance issues, damages, or health and safety concerns.
  • Produce detailed inventory reports using inventory software or reporting tools.
  • Ensure reports are completed and submitted within agreed timescales.
  • Liaise professionally with tenants, landlords, and letting agents during inspections.
  • Maintain confidentiality and impartiality when reporting property conditions.
  • Manage daily schedules and travel between properties efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and relevant legislation.

Key Requirements 

  • Previous experience in property inventories, lettings, or property management (preferred but not essential)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Access to a vehicle
