Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start the renting process?
Start by browsing our available rental properties and registering your interest with BuckleyBrown. Once you find a property you like, we’ll arrange a viewing and guide you through the application process.

You’ll typically need:

  • Proof of identity (passport or driver’s license)
  • Proof of income (payslips or bank statements)
  • References from previous landlords or employers
  • A deposit and first month’s rent

The deposit is usually 4–6 weeks’ rent. This is held securely and protected in a government-backed tenancy deposit scheme.

In addition to your deposit and monthly rent, you may need to consider:
  • Utility bills (gas, electricity, water)
  • Council tax
  • Contents insurance
  • TV license, internet, and other household expenses
Pet policies vary depending on the landlord and property. Let us know if you have pets, and we’ll match you with suitable properties.

Most standard tenancy agreements are 6 or 12 months, but this can vary. We’ll explain the terms and make sure you understand your rights and responsibilities.

We coordinate with landlords to ensure maintenance issues are addressed promptly. Tenants can report problems directly to our team, and we’ll manage the process efficiently.

Yes. Towards the end of your tenancy, we’ll discuss renewal options with you and your landlord to ensure continuity if you wish to stay.

At the end of your tenancy, we conduct a final inspection, return your deposit (minus any agreed deductions), and provide guidance on your next steps.

We focus on making renting simple, transparent, and stress-free. Our team provides clear guidance, responsive support, and access to quality properties, ensuring your tenancy runs smoothly from start to finish.
